"The Wedding"
Thank you Christen for including me in the newest issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry!
Thank you Christen for including me in the newest issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry!
I am always amazed when I open up one of the most beautiful magazines
on the newsstands and see my jewelry.
on the newsstands and see my jewelry.
It is truly humbling.
Even today, as I sit here, less than one month three weeks away from retirement from a full time job in finance, I find myself in awe of it all!
I have been working on this line, called Cabinet Card Jewelry, since last June, after finally having the opportunity to take a class with Deryn Mentock to learn more about Ice Resin.
I am smitten with resin,
and designed many pieces just before Marburger Farm.

I think Christen did a marvelous job in writing the article, which included pictures of my bracelet and earrings. But, the main piece, the necklace which actually has the picture of my grandmother wearing her wedding veil (which you see in my blog header), did not appear in the article.
So, here it is.
So, here it is.
"My Grandmother's Veil"
Made with layers of vintage rhinestones, various vintage brass chains, as well as chain I design using vintage baroque pearls and one of my favorite Brass Bouquet findings,
the very vintage connectors.
I had been saving two identical rhinestone clasps I bought in Warrenton, which doubled as great connectors as well as clasps.

The earrings are dainty.
I loved them so much, I made a pair for myself, just a tad different,
and wear them almost every day.
The issue hit the stands December 1st!
It has super how-to articles written by my friends
And, congratulations to my friends Cindy Wimmer, Esther Ramos,
for their Around the World: A Necklace Round-Robin article.
It was great to finally see their designs.
They really did so much more than what was revealed in the article, so if you have the time to jump over to their blogs, you'll be able to read about their experiences, see their beautiful jewelry journals,
and find out all about their round robin trip!
Plus, the Designer Collection in this article is none other than the talented
She is an extremely talented jewelry designer and artist!
And, there's one more.
In the back of the magazine, is a beautiful boutique of jewelry, where my friend
Stephani Gorman has a beautiful piece of jewelry,
called Dancing in the Moonlight!
So, you can see, I am not alone. There is a wealth of goodies and friends in this issue.
You will love it all. I promise =)

I just want to say how much I love your work and how proud I am to be featured in "Belle Armoire Jewelry" as well. It's the second time for me and still doesn't seem real to see my work included along with yours and the other fabulous artists featured there.
Wow - I have to get that issue!
Diane, Your work is gorgeous and it's great that you're getting the recognition that you deserve ... all while you have been working full-time in a demanding job ... amazing. But just think of what you'll be able to do when you retire ... I can't even begin to fathom it!
congratulations! i have to go and get this one... the pieces are really lovely and i love the idea...
Hi Diane -
Your pieces are gorgeous (as always), and BAJ is blessed to have your talent included in their pages. I am so excited for you to get through the next 3 weeks and then have solid "me" time...you won't know what to do with yourself!
:-) Molly
Congratulations, Diane! I can't wait to get my copy and see your beauties. And like Barbara said - I can't begin to think what you will be doing when you are no longer working full time in the financial world!
How BEAUTIFUL your necklace is!!! I'm just open-mouth-big-smile stunned by its gorgeousness! Thank you for giving us the pieces to enjoy~~What a treat! And your gracious pointing out of the other artists' work. You are a class act Diane~~!
Retiring so soon....ooooo how much fun you'll have with more time for your calling~~jewelry making and teaching. Happy for you!
Beautiful pieces!!!! I need to go see the magazine! I haven't been to the book store in a few weeks. Hope you & Melanie had fun. I called you Saturday to wish her a Happy Birthday but, you didn't answer... must have been partying down! HUGS! Charlene
Your pieces are gorgeous! I love to come here and be inspired--and today is no different.
Congratulations on getting published. I have yet to make it to the city to pick up the latest issue of BA, and I hope there are some left!
Congratulations on your beautiful article, Diane! I enjoyed every line reading it...and especially the bracelet itself. The fact that it is your Grandmother on her wedding day is sooooo incredibly special to me. I have never seen a picture of either of my Grandmothers on their wedding days (one side is Japanese and I would have loved to have seen what she wore back then). The coordinating necklace is out of this world, stunning, sentimental, and gorgeous!!! Congrats again, Diane! I LOVE this issue! :-)
Diane, that bracelet is simply stunning. Oh how I love it.
Congratulations on the publication and in particular regarding your pending retirement.......this has been quite the year for you.
Much love, my dear.
Thank you Diane, what a lovely post. I have yet to get with it and brag about my friends too. It is a great issue with so many talented friends. Riki xoxo
Yes, I saw your work in Belle Armoire Jewelry and knew immediately it was yours before I even looked! Every time I see some vintage gorgeous piece, I know it was made by you! Unbelievable! This is one of their best issues ever. I loved the Manley article, I took her class in Portland. And that around-the-world necklace project was awesome! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas. I can hardly wait to see you in February.
