Odd Shots on Monday

Friday afternoon, home from work, I look across our back yard. Perched on top of the fence~this is what I see. Another fallen tree, this time in our neighbor's back yard. However, it fell in such as way that it landed on their/our fence. Hurricane Ike has been gone for 2 weeks, and he is still rearing his ugly head!
Go see Katney today for more wonderful odd shots today~
Last week I received the most exciting invitation to join a new group, Bokeh rama; and it has the most beautiful "out of focus" shots. This is one of the shots I will be uploading to the group.
What is bokeh (from the Japanese boke, blurr)? This is a photographic term describing the subjective aesthetic qualities of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens. For example, causing an out-of-focus background image may reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject.
If you have the time, take a look at the pictures, you will enjoy!

I'm so sorry about all the people who are suffering due to Ike. I wish our federal and state govenments would do more to help. All that money going into Wall street could help an awful lot of people...

So sorry for the damage suffered, but glad for folks like you who can find beauty in the midst of life's difficulties.

Diane,

I am intriqued by the book mentioned below - can't wait to get a copy and read it - thanks for the recommendation. I hope this lastest "surprise" is the last of the Ike mess you will have to deal with!

What an angle on that tree! It must be so totally distressing to have so much disruption from Mother Nature.

I am sorry to hear you are still suffering from the hurricane.
The bokeh group sounds fun. And it's a cool name, too.

I love bokeh.

Another fallen tree -- I remember when the first one fell. So sorry to hear about the damage.

Be well.

When I first say this picture, I thought it was a wing... beauty in destruction - we saw a lot of that here, too last year...
I wish I would have had more time to go out and about with my camera after the tornado... we were just trying to dig through the rubble to salvage what we could and I never took the time to do it...
I think I was in shock for a few months afterwards, too... just wasn't thinking straight...
