Odd Shots on Monday~Duct Tape Rules

I bought this vintage leather briefcase during the Katy Citywide Garage Sale this past Spring. I liked it because it was made of beautiful old leather, in very good shape inside & out; and I could use it as a jewelry display at shows. Originally, I thought the handle had one of those extra pieces of leather added, but just this weekend while using it, I discovered it was duct tape (hmmm...wear your glasses please). Wrapped perfectly straight & tight; and looking as if it had just been added. This is no anomaly, I know, as duct tape is used everywhere and anywhere. But, I just had to acknowledge the perfection of this wrap job~one only a fellow perfectionist can truly appreciate.

Very nice job! I must only buy the cheap duct tape... it always frays and stays sticky where I don't want sticky ;-)

First visit...there is a joke in our house that if it can't be fixed with duct tape, it needs to be replaced...

I have to agree, that's an awe-inspiring, precision, wrap job! No doubt, the fellow perfectionist who applied it would be pleased you took notice.

ThanX for stopping by today. Yes, I have heard (and enjoyed) the Jars of Clay version of "I'll Fly Away." Posted the traditional lyrics for Grandma though, as it was her favorite, but can't listen to either without crying...

That's an excellent repair job. Whoever did that would be welcome to visit me - repairs get messy round here.

What a surprise! But hey, it fooled you for a while so I'm sure most others won't know it's duct tape. What a nice garage sale find!

If you hadn't told me, I would not have known it. That is odd to have it (duct tape) look so good.

LOL Only a fellow artist and perfectionist can appreciate that you even noticed how good it is! Others would just notice duct tape! It will make a great jewelry display.
BTW, I love the displays in your other post! It looks GREAT! I also love those sterling spinners! Hammers are awesome, aren't they!

Duct Tape. Great Stuff.
We were on the road 16 weeks, driving from Texas to Alaska and back pulling our Travel Trailer. The AlCan Highway is rough on trailers. We used a lot of duct tape. Yes sir. Great Stuff.

I like your blog a lot.

We used to own several Antique Shops.
